How often is hand luggage opened?
I go on vacation with my parents and smoke e-cigarettes every now and then, but I have no idea what my parents think about it and therefore don't want them to know.
Is hand luggage often opened or is that not a problem? On holiday I would only vape if the opportunity arose, so it's only a matter of checking hand luggage. If they check it often and unpack it randomly, then I'll leave the e-cigarette here. It's not worth the risk to me and yes, I'm over 18 (21 years old).

Because of the battery, I would assume that e-cigarettes belong to those objects that need to be placed openly in the boxes for safety control.
It definitely comes through the scanner. Whether it is opened, it depends on what else you have in it and whether it is obvious that it is an e-cigarette. In case of doubt, the baggage is opened. You may even have to put it openly separately in a bowl beforehand.
