How do you make the best crossover?

So, here's the question: I want to do a crossover between Delicious in Dungeon and Countryhumans. Countryhumans are being hunted by humans and are being hunted down, and one of the main characters, my OC, Haruto (a ninja from the mountains to the east, where Shuro the samurai comes from), finds one of the Countryhumans as a child after leaving the party after losing his right eye to the Red Dragon. I've already gotten that far with the idea. Are they allowed to take part in a crossover, and what do you recommend?

Forward: I don’t know any of the universes you want to link. But there are some general needs that all crossover stories must follow.

  1. A “universum” always places the place of action and thus also the rules and conventions to which all the figures acting in it adapt and with which they have to cope.
  2. The non-iversumed protagonists must have a chance to find themselves in the new environment for them, so that they can find out where their own strengths and weaknesses lie in this universe which is foreign to them. This can also be quite a rough way – for example, because they have to fight in a mercenary force or be sold as slaves – or whatever.
  3. These strengths (and weaknesses) must be of a kind that allows you to knit an exciting story from it – for example, they lie in an area that is completely unknown in the “Handlungsuniversum” and yet can decisively influence the events there.
