How do I solve this problem?

I have to do a university homework assignment in engineering mechanics. The topic is the principle of virtual displacement. I'm already having doubts about problem a because my answer depends on the unit L, and L isn't given. Am I making a mistake, or is this already the correct answer?

So Mr. Ricken sounds right, but the approach dares. I would first check the pole plan and then derive the displacement sketch from it. It is important to pay attention to the size ratios and angles. And then set up the work set with the necessary kinematic relationships and set 0. Hope that helped you now

The principle is there. Simply set up a pole plan, draw a shift figure and establish kinematic relationships. Sounds like he’s got his wigs.

Hello,

As Mr Ricken has already formulated, simply set up the pole plan, draw a figure of displacement and establish kinematic relationships.
