How do you “read”/understand your blood pressure?

Hello everyone, I have a question.

I measured my blood pressure today and wanted to know how I can interpret this value and what sys, dia and of course the pulse rate mean and what these values indicate?

Is such a pulse healthy?

You have a blood pressure of 109/60.

Sys stands for systole that is the pressure in your arteries when your heart throws out the blood, so to speak, the highest pressure in your vessels.

Dia stands for diastole that is the pressure in the sleep phase, so when the empty heart chambers fill again – the “lowest” pressure in the vessels.

I do not know how old you are but in itself the normal values (the second value the diastole is slightly low) for an adult. Otherwise, simply google blood pressure values and there you can indicate the values for your age class but if you are adult they are actually normal.

With regard to pulse – it should be between 60 and 80 for adults, so would also fit;)

Don’t worry – the values fit! Do you drink enough over the day (2-3l/day)? Because the more you drink, the higher your blood volume… so your “lower” blood pressure could also come:) – but actually your values fit! Even when 14 years old, they had so low values and still have them today 🙂

Sys = systemic value, that is the upper blood pressure value.

Dia = diastolic value, that is the lower value.

Pulse/min = pulse per minute, so how often the heart beats in the minute.

Your values are all normal

Hello!

How to read these values?

If I remember correctly, blood pressure after Riva-Rocci.
109 mmHG (systolic) to 60 mmHG (diastolic).
mmHG = mm mercury column

And the pulse is written with you: 78 Puls/Schläge per minute

Without even knowing your age, any illnesses, etc., you can hardly guess things. EIn Baby has other “normal” values than an adult. In addition, values of women differ from men. It also depends on your body condition and overall situation. An adipous person has quite different “normal values” than an athlete.

In addition, most of the wrist measuring devices are very inaccurate. When did you measure? After an activity or a long rest period?

Your device is probably a “overarm cuff meter” that should be a little more accurate.

Without knowing you, you can say little. I refer to the WHO:

All night, now I forgot the pulse completely

My blood pressure is also in this area. Sometimes also at 90/60.
It usually fluctuates between 120/110/100/90 to 60/50. Pulse in rest often at 45-50. But I’m also SPortler.

Of course, too low is not good. But that’s still fine.
