How do I teach spelling?

Hi,

I (15) am a private tutor for my neighbor, who is still in elementary school.

Before I started tutoring her, she had very poor grades in almost all subjects.

But now things have changed and she understands everything, although spelling is still difficult for her.

Does anyone know how I could possibly teach her spelling again? She's already in fourth grade and will soon be starting high school.

Best regards

Much practice and explain the relevant rules – and continue to practice.

Here you can find material:

Standard problems in primary school are at spelling:

  • Large/small
  • Elongation
  • and most likely the consequences of short and long vowels…

I’d let her read a lot. This subconsciously trains the understanding of spelling.

What helped me to write down 1 children’s book page every day.

So you learn to read the words correctly and still write the longer.

I learned how to separate words correctly.

The missing ones are only painted and NOT improved.

The improvement must make them themselves.

The standards:

Never cut ST, because it hurts the T.

Since with T like Time (Engl. Zeit) only with time

I’ve been eating pineapples since yesterday.

Silk with D is the derivation of sinD

Did you die? No, we didn’t die.
