How long does clonazepam (Rivotril) work?
Hey, I've read several times that the half-life of Rivotril is around +-20 hours, but I've also read that the actual effect only lasts 10-12 hours.
My question is that I occasionally take a 2mg dose of Rivotril in the evening and wake up the next morning full of energy and drive. After the 10+ hours in which you should actually notice the effects, that shouldn't be the case, right?
I get up and immediately complete tasks without thinking about them, tasks I'd otherwise always put off. I actually feel pretty good throughout the day, too, which is why these 10-12 hours don't make sense to me.
Does anyone have experience they can share with me?
This is a strong simplification that goes past reality.
There’s the basic error in your thoughts.
Do you even know what effects Clonazepam has?
The stuff intervenes more or less massively in the human chemical household and develops DIVERSE effects there, which in turn can lead to other consequences.
I suspect the good mood lies essentially
a) good sleep
b) the atmospheric effect of Clonazepam
Of course, you need to take into account what a dose you take during the half-life. It makes a massive difference whether you drink a black tea in the afternoon, or eight. The half-life of caffeine is the same in both cases.
I take 0.25 mg of Rivotril. Then take me eight times. This means that if the effect on me lasts for 10 hours, it will automatically stop at you for 80 hours.
But as I said, all this is not as simple and the rule of thumb with 10 hours is complete mischief.
Hey, yes, I’ve always dealt with each “drug” quite well with that I’ve consumed. I also know the actual medical effect of Clonazepam. Just tried to read me again and made some different statements that my experience cannot really explain.
You’ve always helped me a little further in understanding.
Thank you for this:)
I like to use Rivos for exactly my described effect, because otherwise I often don’t get a lot of things on the line, so I don’t get to grips at all and so just sit on my tasks directly without great superiority.
So my level of information is that benzos (and also Rivotril) have three essential effects:
Hey,
the HWS of approx. 20h is right. But that doesn’t mean that after 20h half of the effect is still there. The GABA receptor proteins blunt during the action process: it builds up a tolerance. Therefore, only 50% of the rivotrils are degraded after 20 h, but the effect is significantly lower.
Why you’re so charged the next day, I can only speculate. I know in every case that I was very energetic the next day at Rivotril. Probably because the effect is still good next morning, and is simply a kind of “euphorie feeling”.
Also thank you, better for understanding in every case and yes it simply helps against this drivelessness.
Clonazepam is a drug from the group of benzodiazepines which is primarily used as an emergency medication in epileptic seizures. In the USA, it is also permitted to treat severe psychiatric anxiety disorders, but not in Europe.
Like all benzodiazepines, clonazepam also makes it difficult to rely on when used too frequently. This also involves a development of tolerance (conciliation effect). Consequently, treatment with benzodiazepines should take place as short and as low dose as possible.
But to your question: According to the list of medicinal products, the effective duration of Clonazepam in children is 6-8, and in adults 8-12 hours. The half-life is 30-40 hours. In individual cases, however, these values may vary greatly.
