How long does sliced meat sausage last?
Hello,
I opened a package of meat-based red sausage on Wednesday and added it to my meal last night, frying it lightly. I left the meal in the fridge overnight, so strictly speaking, the sausage has been open for four days now. Can I reheat the meal and eat it, or is it better not to?
This is such a sausage:
Of course you can eat it. Unless the sausage was already at the end when the pack was opened.
Our sausage packs are usually open for a week when it is always cooled, nothing happens.
Actually, right? My parents always have it that the packages are open for a week. There never happened. The sausage was completely new when opening. Very long lasting unopened. And on the package there is only the beauty “to eat soon” …
The information is always somewhat unclear, but the manufacturer does not know what happens in the open state. But with cooling and hygiene, food lasts for a while.
You can heat it as often as you like, from a health point of view there are no concerns.
