Had rabbits and rabbits and had to shorten the teeth of one of the animals by using a pliers. The vet once showed me. Then I knew how to do this and did it myself.

The teeth of the guinea pig may only be shortened by the veterinarian under anesthesia with rotating tools. When cutting off with the pliers, there is the risk that the tooth enamel tears into the open tooth root and this is irreversibly damaged. Fibre teeth or elephant teeth then form.

So get to the vet!

Hey, Philipp339!

You’re best to go to the vet as soon as possible. Your guinea pig certainly doesn’t eat much when it has problems with your teeth. And if your guinea pig doesn’t eat, it takes off faster than you think. From the vet!

You better go to the vet, don’t cost much. If you do it yourself and have bad luck, you can seriously hurt your animal.
