How can I view the product key on Steam (2019)?

Hello. I need the product key for "Red Dead Redemption 2 Support" on Steam. I used to be able to right-click on the game in the library and select "View Product Key." But that doesn't work for me anymore. Can someone help?

Many thanks

If you can see as far as I know only under certain conditions, but I don’t know the exact ones, it was if the game wasn’t bought in the shop and does not run directly over Steam like Uplay titles.

Where did you buy it? If it wasn’t bought on Steam then you usually have the key somewhere in an email or on the site where you bought it.

If it is bought directly via Steam, you can solve the problems directly via Steam Support or maybe with the transaction ID you can see under “Last Purchases”.

Then you have to write it like this or show it differently with the transaction ID.

Here is an example:

A game that I activated with Key so did not buy directly in the store but still requires Origin.

Rockstar titles do not have a product key on Steam, you need to link your Steam account to the social club account and it will be activated automatically when starting

So I can only say that games before GTA V require a key but GTA V and I guess RDR 2 are also linked to the account, as the social club account associated with the Steam account is always used if you have registered a second social club account in the new launcher and start a Steam game. When the launcher wasn’t yet, you didn’t even have to sign up again

The Steam key cannot be read at any game. Those who allow this have received an entry in the context menu.

Right click on the game in the list and select “Manage”. If the key can be viewed, you will find the menu item.
