Previous: So you have a ???? router and a ?????-Wireless LAN adapter. Great information!

Are you sure? Wifi 6E is still quite exotic, and is rarely supported.

Or is it possibly even WiFi 7?

These Wifi standards exist:

  • WLAN 1 / Wi-Fi 1: IEEE 802.11 (1999)
  • WLAN 2 / Wi-Fi 2: IEEE 802.11b (1999)
  • WLAN 3 / Wi-Fi 3: IEEE 802.11g (2003)
  • WLAN 4 / Wi-Fi 4:IEEE 802.11n (2009)
  • WLAN 5 / Wi-Fi 5:IEEE 802.11ac (2014)
  • WLAN 6 / Wi-Fi 6:IEEE 802.11ax (2021)
  • WLAN 6E / Wi-Fi 6E: IEEE 802.11ax in the 6-GHz frequency range
  • WLAN 7 / Wi-Fi 7:IEEE 802.11

There are several conditions that ALL must be fulfilled so that it works:

  1. The technical data of ???-Router and ???-Wireless LAN adapters must master these skills. So look at the manufacturer/handbook.
  2. The ??? router must be able to send 6 GHz, typically only 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. And of course also be set to the standard WiFi 6E. Please check the configuration page of the ??? router.
  3. Your WLAN adapter must be able to receive WiFi 6E. So look in Windows Device Manager under Features of ???-Wireless LAN Adapter. If the wrong/inappropriate ?????Wireless LAN adapter – driver is installed, it doesn’t work anyway. So it’s imperative that the manufacturer download and install the exactly right driver for ????- Wireless LAN adapter.
  4. (That’s my suspicion!) Thick walls and room ceilings? 2.4 GHz Wifi 4 goes significantly better through thick walls compared to 5 GHz and 6 GHz. So the reception is already too weak, so will 2.4 GHz WLAN be better and that??? Wireless LAN Adapter will switch to 2.4 GHz Wifi 4 so that something is at all. In the Windows device manager under features of the ??? Wireless LAN adapter you can force it, but if nix gets more, because too weak, the “nix” is of course even worse than Wifi 4.

You noticed that on your question you did not call a model or manufacturer of???, so this answer reads more difficult.

Name manufacturers + model, and you get better answers here.

Good luck!

I think you can change the system settings on network!
