How can it be that new iPhones are offered so "cheaply" on eBay?

I'm considering buying an iPhone. The iPhone 15 costs around €800 on Amazon. On eBay, you can get it new for €719. The buyer has a lot of reviews and seems reputable. But now I'm wondering: Why is the iPhone so "cheap" there? Is it still genuine?

Amazon is official Apple dealer and therefore directs the goods from Apple. Therefore, there is difficult to give large discounts.

On eBay, you will find many small retailers who still have to pay a sales tax.

Another reason is that the devices have often been purchased by private individuals who have already been officially VAT. Tax paid. The dealer then only has to control the difference.

eBay dealers therefore often use tax advantages and can therefore be cheaper.

I’ve already bought 2x IPhones over eBay that were cheaper than Amazon. In the descriptions it is often stated that there were “exhibitors”.

my two phones came from Russia and there the things are probably just cheaper. The only difference was that the warranty conditions in the IPhone were in Cyrillic. Everything else was in the language as I set it. The IPhone XS Max has used my mom even today. You can do it. Otherwise, you always have an extended right of withdrawal in Germany for remote sales. You can do it.
