How did the drawing turn out?

I've drawn something again and wanted to ask if anyone has any tips or suggestions, especially regarding clothing.

Kaito from Aijin

and for comparison the original character

And then a self-invented character

once like this

and once in my sketchbook

Hello, Cocola,

Compliment, for 13 years your drawings are very good – your opinion and playback of the body are great, especially in the cut-out drawing.

If you want to improve in the area of clothing, it helps to study on the living model – fast and rough sketches that indicate the volume and folds, light shades – this is often enough for studies. Don’t keep up with little things, because it does work out, but not recognition and presentation.

For example, if you have siblings, please posing them once in the bathrobe, or in the training suit, if that’s hard for you, you could also take photos and draw them. However, I recommend working live on the living model, as it makes the perception and representation better.

I went to our city library in young years and borrowed books on these topics – maybe there is something like that with you. Studies on wrinkles are available from various Artists also on the net.

Have fun and success

You can see that you’ve looked exactly.

But your Kaito looks a bit childish, somehow the head is a bit big in relation to the arms and bodies. That’s supposed to be a muscious fighter, right? His arms are kind of thin. You have to compare a standing figure exactly “measure”, that is, length and width of limbs. Head and upper arms are equal long, the hand extends from chin to forehead!

It’s nice that you “stitch” your drawings, but maybe it would be beneficial if you were working more extensively.

I like the cut out very well, but with the felt pin drawing the shade is symmetrical…. if it should be real after light fall, then the hatches always belong to the same side.

Despite all my criticism (which you should see as constructive), I like your style.
