What are the chances of getting a retainer?

Hi guys

I heard that you get a retainer after braces.

First, what are the chances of getting a retainer?

Secondly, can you choose whether you want a fixed or a removable one?

And thirdly, if you get a permanent one, how likely is it that you will have to wear it for life?

  1. 100%
  2. normally yes, even because the fixed keeper is a private service and is not paid by the health insurance company. If you decide for solid containers, you usually get loose.
  3. 80% – Recommendation is always life-long, but you can let him out in a few years if he still bothers you.

I also have a container wire and it doesn’t bother at all. If it is used correctly, it is not likely to break at all. And you don’t even see it from the outside.

What’s bothering me most is that a little bit of food rarely catches in there.
