What are the chances of surviving cancer?
Hello folks.
I found out yesterday that my ex-boyfriend has cancer. Or rather, I suspect he does. I was told he completed his first round of chemotherapy.
We're not together anymore and we don't have any contact anymore, but I still care about him a lot and the thought is really getting to me and I can't stop crying.
I don't know what kind of cancer he has, but I suspect it was discovered early.
So, is the chance higher that he'll beat the cancer? I know only his doctor could answer that, but I hope someone here can shed some light on this and reassure me.
You can’t say that at 300 or 500 cancers and subspecies at all.
Mathematically, it might be possible to calculate an average, but it would not use anything at all.
My own cure in kidney cancer with lung metastases was considered quite small at that time. But after the kidney surgery, the miracle cure Iscador freed me from the metastases.
Well, then I guess for you: 50%. With 100 question marks!
This depends on many factors > the type of cancer, size, whether it has already metastased etc.
A glioblastoma or a metastasized pancreatic carcinoma does not have a good prognosis, in a bronchial carcinoma, depending on whether this is small-celled or not.
This does not apply to all types of cancer. Due to relevant therapies, the chances of healing are high:
OP > RO Resection,
differentiated chemotherapy, adjuvant, neoadjuvant. With a so-called down staging > combined radio/chemotherapy, one can reduce a large carcinoma so that there is operability,
precise radiation therapy. Because of this, the surrounding tissue is protected,
Immunotherapy with the appropriate drugs, such as mononuclear antibodies.
In order to answer your question a little more precisely, one should at least know the type of cancer and know if it has already metastasised.
Good for the patient!
Healing opportunities and survival rates
More than half of all cancer patients live five years after the diagnosis.
However, experts distinguish the so-called absolute survival rate from the relative survival rate:
The five-year period at the same time means a good chance for long-term healing in many types of tumors – after which relapses are only slightly probable. However, this statement represents only one average and refers to total statistics. It can be quite different for men and women and for individual forms of cancer. Thus, children with leukemias and young men with testicular cancer today have very good prospects for permanent healing. The survival rates for lip cancer, black skin cancer (malignant melanoma) and now also prostate cancer have risen significantly. By contrast, many people with pancreas cancer, lung cancer or liver cancer can still not expect a longer survival period or healing.

You can’t answer this on a flat-rate basis because it comes to different criteria.
You realize that your question cannot be answered with your information.
You can get more information from your ex friend. His doctor won’t give you any information.
I myself had cancer in 2009, it was found successful at an early stage, no aftertreatment necessary and I’m fine.
Happy for your ex….
So apparently he has leukemia.
Nor can you give a prognosis….even not the oncologists who treat it.
For a first disease roughly estimated:
pancreas < 15 %
Intestinal cancer about 60%
Breast cancer about 80%
testicular cancer > 90 %
It is always a question of how early the cancer is detected and whether it has already scattered at that time.
If he was discovered early and is treated directly (of course, also in the way) then I would say very well. depends on whether he has already scattered
There are cancers that can be treated well and where the likelihood is high to be cured and there are cancers that do not have a good prognosis.
What your ex has and how good or bad his forecast is nobody can say here.
I’d just advise you to get in touch and tell him that you know he’s sick and you want him all right.
In his reaction, you’ll notice that he wants to talk to you or not.
If not accept it.
He seems to have leukemia and it was discovered relatively early
The probability of survival of a cancer depends on the form of cancer. There are strong differences.
But if there are cancers, the chances of healing are very high.
Do you know what form he has?
Without knowing the exact diagnosis, you can say absolutely nothing
Whether you survive cancer depends on the type, stage and treatment
The earlier treated, the greater the chances of healing
