Back then, there wasn't any of the series hype we have today; people always wanted to watch films.
(Of course there were the well-known animes and sitcoms etc. but series were more for television or if illegal

Do you believe in 2008-2011? Sometime there was a non-legal website. There was a huge selection of movies, series but also videos about games (WoW pvp…) etc, quasi a youtube with additional movies and series for free.
All that for then in HD quality, no charging times or buffering. All also in different languages, I guess that there were English and German films.
