The large cases of pizza delivery service are very, very easy.

If you put too much weight behind the rear axle -> the vehicle comes up at the front and the front wheel is too relieved.

Normally – often in the user manual – the luggage carrier (depending on the design) is allowed to load between 3 and 10 kg. Gross, including container.

Such an aluminium box weighs about 6-7 kg. So, in the ideal case, you’ll still be charged 3 kg. What do you want to transport with 130 l volume and 3 kg weight? Feathers? Polystyrene chips;)

So let’s do this differently: what do you want to transport? A large topcase has about 45 liters volume, which is sufficient for two helmets.

Weight of such a topcase (e.g. Givi Topcase E450 Simply 2): Not less than 4 kg. Maximum charge according to Givi: 3 kg. Then you’re at 7 kg total weight.

§ 32 Dimensions of vehicles and vehicle combinations.(1) In motor vehicles and trailers including interchangeable load carriers (§ 42 para. 3) shall not exceed the maximum width above all, except in the case of snow clearing equipment and winter service vehicles:

1. general 2,55 m,

Two. in the case of agricultural or forestry work equipment and in the case of tractors and special vehicles with replaceable agricultural or forestry tractors, and in the case of vehicles with built-in devices for road maintenance 3,00 m;

3. for trailers behind motorcycles 1,00 m,

4. in the case of fixed or removable structures of air-conditioned vehicles equipped for the transport of goods in temperature-controlled condition and whose side walls, including heat insulation, are at least 45 mm thick 2,60 m,

5. for passenger cars 2.50 m.

Could you mount. But beware of stability: cheap boxes are made of plywood with thin aluminium sheet, which do not keep the germ out. And if you’re too heavy to load such a giant box, the driving stability is impaired.

If I’m quite out of mind, a container can’t be the max. Width of the roller (with mirrors).

The box permanently mounted must be tested in the crumb behavior… But it’s like a load, no matter how big…
