What should I do if someone keeps blocking my basement window with their bike, so I can no longer park mine there and lock it?

Hello everyone,

The question is ridiculous, I know, but we're in Germany, and unfortunately, such a question is justified. I'm not entirely sure what the legal situation is if I simply move the bike without it blocking my parking space.

I really can't afford to have to pay for that, since my last bike was stolen and had to be repaired twice since then. (I hope this has nothing to do with the neighborhood dispute (see below).)

It's happened several times that my bike was parked next to another bike, and I've always pushed the other bike aside because I have to get to it somehow and get to work. After a spoke popped out the one time because the lock was attached to the wheel, it hasn't happened again.

My bike was always moved in the basement, in case anyone asked why I didn't leave it there. There's not a single free space left in the basement, and if I park it too close to the others, it's always moved to a place where it shouldn't be.

This time, my space—that is, my basement window—was blocked by the other bike, so I couldn't park mine without having to move it again. I don't want to bother my landlord with such trivialities and would prefer to sort it out myself. I'll also print out a photo today and stick it on the wall of my house to show my neighbor how to park the bikes so they can both stay there. But I'm afraid that won't help much.

Therefore, I would be open to some advice on how to handle the situation, as well as what the legal situation looks like.

Best regards and thank you in advance!

My bike (white) parked:

(The left basement window is mine and there is still enough space to the right)

This is public street and completely irrelevant whether it’s your cellar window. Everyone can park his bike.

Connecting directly to the house can only prevent the owner of the house.

Buy yourself a very long castle. Then you can also park in the second row. A sign with the inscription “no bikes leave” will certainly not bring anything.

You did not rent this area in front of the house, so you have neither a right to use it on your own, nor do you have anything to change in the property of other people who were placed there.

And you are generally right with your assumption that this question is ridiculous. Because you’re making yourself ridiculous.

then find another place where you can join your bike. that is not your property,

I think of something, put it in the basement, then it’s “closed”

It’s not “dein place.” Put your wire sash on the other side. End.

Then you had bad luck. There is no right to dispose of his crest in public space.

In front of your cellar.
