HOW dangerous is it to participate in ROAD TRAFFIC (ACCIDENTS) – car, motorcycle, bicycle?

Hello

I have a few questions about public road traffic

  1. How can you avoid an accident (car, moped/motorcycle/scooter, bicycle, etc.) especially with the first 2
  2. How quickly can such vehicle accidents occur? And what are the causes, for example?
  3. How can you survive such an accident? So, survival tips for cars and motorcycles
  4. Which is more dangerous or riskier to drive when it comes to accidents? (Car, motorcycle/moped/scooter, or bicycle)? And the statistics on this, if possible.

and

Have you ever had an accident, a near-accident, or witnessed one? What were the consequences?

Or how dangerous/risky is it to participate in road traffic? (Car, motorcycle, bicycle) Pedestrians not included.

You don't have to answer everything, but please answer a few of these questions. It would be really nice!

thank you in advance

1. An accident always includes two. You can only try to help your part avoid accidents. These include: Be alert and not overwhelmed, Keeping speed limit, predictive driving, Rechnen with errors from other defensive driving style. What the others do, unfortunately, can only be expected to be limited. You can’t affect whether someone is drunk with an overpowered sports car on your track. The easiest way to avoid accidents would therefore be to simply drive yourself nciht (especially with two-wheeler), but I think that is not part of the sensible answers catalog on your question. Nevertheless, one can of course consider which ways one has to do.

2. Two-wheeled drivers suffer more and faster accidents as a percentage. According to the Federal Statistical Office, on 1000 motorcycles 7 an accident occurs, on 1000 cars 5 accidents occur. I’m missing the numbers on bicycles, but after your list, they’re still on top. Reasons are, on the one hand, that two wheels naturally slip away better when it is smooth, but they also offer poor visibility and are therefore more often overlooked by drivers. The non-adjusted way of driving is crazy, not even the main problem. Most accidents occur internally (60%), usually at intersections and at bending maneuvers.

3. You can protect yourself as well as by wearing sufficient protective clothing and a reasonable helmet as a two-wheeler and avoiding high speeds. You may think about an airbag vest, but I am currently not up-to-date as the scientific data situation is about meaningfulness. In addition, it is even more important than in the car to pay attention to an appropriate weather – rainy or iced roads are far more dangerous for motorcyclists than for motorists. Of course, it is also important for cars to use the existing protective devices (claws!), but they work automatically and you have little influence. It would also be important to clamp a suitable rescue card of your vehicle to the sun visor of the driver’s side, so that firefighters who are not yet able to access the design plans of the vehicles online get an idea of how to get you out of there best. These rescue cards provide manufacturers as far as I know the ADAC also has a list on the HP.

4: ICh already indicated it above. Motorcycles are more often involved than cars in accidents, I lack the data for bicycles. In addition, the mortality of 14 dead per 100,000 registered vehicles is significantly higher for motorcyclists than for cars (4 dead per 100,000 registered vehicles). UNd this number doesn’t even take into account the kilometers! Cars drive far more kilometers than motorbikes, but the number of motorcycle dead per 100,000 vehicles is almost 4x so high… The number of severely injured persons is also higher than the total number of drivers. No wonder – it’s missing the Knautschzone. By the way, I have the Zaheln from the evaluation of the Federal Statistical Office of 2014, so they are somewhat older but basically similar, as far as I know.

Fortunately, apart from a few scratches when parking, I had no accidents. However, I am more often involved in accidents. I also know, of course, how seriously injured people look. I can say: in modern cars with their very good safety systems, people survive the most spectacular accidents. Sometimes almost without scratches. Two-wheelers are getting worse.

There is no 100% security. You can already do a lot with a predictive rather defensive way of driving for you. Sometimes, depending on driving practice, you may have to. also for other commemorations such as in doubt to dispense with the passage etc. For example, when I travel with the motorcycle, I always expect the other to underestimate my speed and or overlook me. That’s what I think. And survival tips are available as long as you always wear a helmet on the bike and on the motorcycle a small protective equipment. Otherwise, if it’s an adult, that’s the same.

I already had several motorcycle accidents;

Front brake of my Honda xl 250 fails, with 50Kmh in trunk lid: arm break, otherwise nothing, crashed machine still tormented on the bike path.

Aquaplaning in track grooves ,80Kmh with Honda cg125 : rainoverall shredded, helmet whipped, arched footrest, but surpassed relatively without prejudice.

Dismounted via handlebars in the terrain, Honda xl 250 : Only ribs rolled

Started in the roundabout, Honda cg 125, 50Kmh: Unfortunate landing, nothing happens.

BMW R60l6 must keep on rising, brake train torn, falling backward: ankle hurt, oil spot on the road. Machine carefully moved home.

Kymco 300 quad, cover in the Steilhang area: Bissl cross pain, machine taken a little, then heated the rest of the day.

It is, of course, very likely that you will get caught sometime, but most of the time it’s still very good. There are only 3 types of motorcyclists: They are already overthrown, then those who will be overthrowing and those who drive with their motorcycle only to the TÜV or to the gas station. In the event of an accident, you’ll be instinctive anyway, you see everything as in slow motion, but you can’t really react yourself. Your body then switches to autopilot and goes from your own into a protection, so you often don’t get hurt or just easily. Best regards

P.S.: Get up again and again, otherwise you could get fear of driving after a fall;)

Yeah, some. One in which I was not involved, however, has remained in my memory. He was detained here by a firefighter press team:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AObZSqAgu34

I got the 3rd track on my way to the evening. The accidental truck hit the other truck about 200m in front of me. He has made a steering movement to the left in the last second, probably saving his life. Luckily, no car was right in front of me when the truck crashed into the central control panel. Such accidents only convey the forces acting in an accident.

With other truck drivers I was a first aider, but without tools, the clamped driver could not be supplied. Rescue forces were fast on site, because a few km further just burned a car. Therefore, the accumulation on the right track.

So I stood first and had to wait 2 hours until the right track was cleared. The older cop who gave the lead free, but still had a good mood. He stepped the vehicle rows from the stand track to the 3rd lane in front of my car and gave the sign for “Start the engines” with his hand raised and circular index finger. And then we went on. Nice in the zipper procedure as we learned.

How dangerous/risk is it to participate in road transport??

As a sceptic, you could say, madness!! As an optimist, road traffic is problem-free and as a realist, I would say it is not riskless. Imagine you’re overhauling a truck on the highway exactly at the moment one of its tires will burst. Your car is damaged. You may lose the steering wheel because you are shocked and end up in the central control panel or under the truck. Maybe subsequent cars can no longer brake, etc. The consequences can be fatal.

But it can also be quite unspectacular: you park in a parking space on the edge of the road and open your door without a shoulder view. A cyclist hits your door with full force and breaks the neck when it falls.

But you can also take 50 years to the traffic without ever experiencing an accident.

Accidents: happen mainly because the human being is the greatest risk. It is clear that it is safer to be on 4 wheels: with my 25-year-old driving practice no car accident had: but I think I’m a pre-sighted driver. Three years ago the car was sold: I’m driving too little now, so it’s not worth having my own car anymore.

With the wheel, of course, the risk of an accident is greater. There’s also a slip to hurt yourself: there’s no need for anyone else. Once I’ve been on the way to work: result: an arm break.

No one can look bright.

I’ve been driving for 9 years by car, every day 50 KM for work, was already on vacation, etc. and had no accident yet.

1. Drive ahead. Always count on mistakes and stupidity of others.

Make situations are predictable.

Not always insist on his right. Of course you’ve got an entrance in a roundabout. Looks like someone’s driving in, just braking. The same applies to track changes. A little brake, which saves you a lot, even if you were to keep a court right.

Sometimes you can’t do anything. so is life now.

3. Protective equipment. Even with a 50s I wear not only helmet, but also a reasonable jacket with protectors and gloves. They don’t always look like motorcycle clothes, so the right goes well.

Evtl does a driving safety training.

Accidents can have various causes

most secure you are on the road with 4 wheels, even there are no accidents.

to 3, there are quite many “cases” in it, no one can tell you. one goes at 30 on, the other “first” at 100 or faster

I had a few accidents, all over without prejudice

Statistically, you all suffer approx. 30,000 years of road death.
