How does a pregnancy test work?

I'm now 5 days late with my period.
If I buy a pregnancy test, should I buy one for early pregnancy or a regular one? Can I use it right away so the final result is accurate?

An early test is more sensitive and can thus determine lower amounts of HCG in urine.

If you’re already overdue, it doesn’t matter if you use an early test or a “normal” test.

From obesity you can test at any time of day, but make sure you don’t drink too much before.

Wait. 5 days are not particularly late and a test will be more accurate the longer this is. There’s an early test. If so

have been overdue with my period for 5 days.

So there is no need for a “break” test, but for a very normal test, which in the meantime is also obtained in any drugstore market.

A test is best done in the early morning, as the night urine is mostly more concentrated.
