How does the pill break work?
How can I be fully protected during the pill break if I have taken the pill without any mistakes before?
It's said that if you take the pill more than 12 hours after it's due, you're likely no longer protected. So how can I skip taking the pill for 7 days and still be protected?
Somehow that doesn't make sense
Hello anonymous220555555
In the break you are only protected if you have taken the pill at least 14 days (at the Belara 21 days) without errors. Then there was a protection that lasts 7 days. That’s why the break must never be longer than 7 days.
Besides, it always depends on what week a mistake happens.
A mistake in the first week can be very fatal. You have to additionally prevent the next 7 days in each pill (at Qlaira 9 days) and at GV in the previous 7 days there is the possibility of pregnancy.
A mistake in the second week is not a problem for most pills when the pill was taken error-free in the first week. The protection is preserved.
In case of an error in the third week, most pills will get protection if you react correctly to the error. Either go to the break immediately (the day of the forgotten pill must be counted as the first day of break) or leave the break.
However, there are also pills where you always have to prevent the next days in case of a mistake and where in any case the break must be omitted.
You have to read this once in your pill’s package, and then you know how to respond to a mistake in taking.

With regular intake, the hormones of the pill leverage your own natural cycle and suppress both the ripening process of the egg and the ovulation.
In addition, the rearrangement of the cervical mucosa is disturbed, i.e. it is not prepared for the indentation of a fertilized egg cell, and a mucous membrane is formed at the entrance of the cervical nut, which is almost impenetrable for sperm.
The hormonal situation is then constant as in the second, infertile cycle phase.
After at least 14 tablets, the ovaries are then virtually in deep sleep and the protection against reception also exists during regular intake breaks.
Although in this hormonal time (take pause) the ovaries which have been suppressed by the pill hormones begin again. However, this period is too short to complete the maturation process for the fertilizing egg.
Happy for you!
It has something to do with the duration of taking. Simply read the package leaflet, after two blisters you can go directly into the break without loss of action.
