Hello, I emailed a business customer last Monday and haven't received a response yet. (He's also been back in the office since last Monday.) Should I wait a bit longer or should I email him again? It's a bit urgent, but I don't want to seem pushy.

You can also change a lot more information in the same time than by text message. And misunderstandings also occur less, I guess.

It depends on the occasion/the situation! But usually a call is much better.
