What do you think of this career path?

I once met a woman I quite liked, both physically and personally. Her career path looks something like this:

• Graduated from high school at 20,
• then completed a 3-year commercial apprenticeship without remaining in the training company afterwards,
• After completing her training, she started studying (first at university, then at a technical college, presumably because university was too demanding). Previously, she had only been able to complete a bachelor's degree. It took her 5-6 years to complete the bachelor's degree.
• Then she enrolled for a master's degree at a distance learning university, part-time. She's been doing this for four years now, without making any noticeable progress. She's also been living on welfare (formerly Hartz IV) for about four years. This seems to be possible because she's studying part-time and officially looking for a job. So, de facto, she's essentially unemployed and a part-time "student."
• During the four years she was living on welfare, she occasionally worked for a few months in the restaurant industry, working at her ex-boyfriend's snack bar. She did this job illegally to avoid losing her eligibility for welfare.
• She's been separated from her ex for a few months now, so she's no longer working at the store and is back at school. Since I've known her (about five months), she's only sent out two job applications at most. She's now in her mid-30s.

I find this all rather strange and unattractive. What do you think?
