For me, the BR 420 is the “classical” S-Bahn (from Berlin and Hamburg).

When I came to Frankfurt and Munich for the first time in the 1980s, there was nothing else on the S-Bahn, and the driving noise and interior equipment have shaped my impression of “S-Bahn”.

At times we also had the pleasure of driving with these trains in Düsseldorf (which, however, did not give all passengers enthusiasm).

Hello,

the worst of this series,

the missing toilet.

Especially when you drove home after the Oktoberfest.

In winter often the doors are cheerful when after the tunnel passes,
again on normal tracks.

Otherwise a good-natured vehicle.

The MÃ1⁄4nchen ET 420ers have been so beautifully decorated! However, I have been missing the ET 420er with pocket sliding doors for almost 10 years

As a child I hated her, meanwhile I miss her…

Fine.

I’ve never been in Munich with her.
