For the diagnosis of myocarditis, a thorough anamnese, EKG + Echo – heart ultrasound and a control of various laboratory parameters, with focus on the heart enzymes, is necessary.

EKG can find it in half of the cases. 24 hours EKG is not necessary. But EKG is not specific. That’s why ultrasound is better.
