What is the best way to disinfect bones I find?

Hello,

found some bones in the forest.

There were still residues on it. I boiled the whole thing for 15 minutes in water with dish soap and washing powder to degrease, etc. Then I stopped the whole process because it smelled too bad.

There is no meat/fat or anything like that left on it as far as I can tell.

I've left the whole thing in dishwater until the next time I need it.

I think I read somewhere that heat doesn't have a completely disinfecting effect.

Can I touch these bones now? Or does the whole thing have to cook for a certain amount of time? If so, I would repeat the process outdoors.

I also have acetone here, but that doesn't really disinfect, does it?

Please no stupid comments like: throw that away, there could be anything on it. – Anything could be on any doorknob.

I think cooking is good. And if there’s nothing left on meat and other rests, I would have dried and then at least I wouldn’t worry. Whiter becomes the bone with hydrogen peroxide. In the pharmacy 🙂

What kind of hobby is that?

Do you want to cook another meal in the pot? Take it away and disinfect your hands with vinegar!

Well, if you think… I don’t want to look at a dead animal on my wall.

I take hydrogen peroxide if I want to bleach animal skulls, for example, and clean them up from remaining ornagic residues.

Of course it stinks, so I cook skulls etc. outdoors.
