How do I disable HP cartridge protection from my iPad?
I'm trying to print with third-party cartridges on an HP printer. Unfortunately, it won't accept them because of some chip it can't read. Apparently, the cartridge protection prevents the use of third-party cartridges. Apparently, this "protection" can be disabled, but I can only find instructions for Windows. I'm working from an iPad. Does anyone know how I can disable HP cartridge protection from the iPad? The printer is an HP OfficeJet Pro 7740.
The printer is not allowed to do this by law. And HP has already removed this from all firmware versions that were included.
If the cartridge is not detected, it is not suitable for this printer.
In the case of third-party cartridges, it should be ensured that they do not offer their own cartridges, but use prepared originals. HP has patented its own cartridges, which is why they cannot be reconstructed unquestioned by any third party manufacturer. However, if a manufacturer does, the thing does not have to work (and the manufacturer has a complaint for patent infringements).
