If you want to get it soft, the whole color will leave. Acrylic is extremely unsuitable for this. It is rather used on hard and immovable objects such as canvas, wood or cardboard. Acrylic enters the interspaces of the fibers. That’s why it gets tough. If you want to make the fabric move again, you would break up these layers, which would gradually make the dried color (even very quickly) porous. It’s not the same as you’re mistakenly claping to your clothes when painting. Acrylic then does not go out even after x-how many washes. 🤣

For painting clothes, there is your own color on a completely different basis. Mostly water-based. Sounds illogical for the first time, but textile paint becomes light and waterproof after ironing. It receives a special coating due to heat action. For example, you can find a selection here:

https://www.amazon.de/Marabu-17160075073-Textile color-500-black/dp/B0014E189S/ref=sr_1_21?c=ts&keywords=Stoffmalfarben&qid=1702734998&s=kitchen&sr=1-21&ts_id=2993011031&th=1

However, I recommend that you first paint some fabric hats you don’t need to get a feeling for it. It is not comparable to acrylic at all.

No.

it is necessary to buy appropriate material color and not to take acrylic color.
