How do you make a rubber buffer that is supposed to dampen a glass tailgate TIGHT again and, if necessary, also tight?
The black plastic buffer in the upper half of the picture is probably supposed to dampen the glass tailgate (Toyota Aygo, identical to Peugeot 107, identical to Citroen C1). In my case, these dampers, which are level with the top edge of the taillight, wobble both on the left and above the right taillight. Water is definitely getting in at the left rubber buffer! How do you make them seal again? Have new rubber buffers clipped back in (with new clips)? What are these buffers called (for online ordering)??? Silicone or glue probably won't help if the glass tailgate keeps banging against it (when closing the trunk), right? Sheet metal screw?
as far as I know these are dense and cannot run out. they are screwed. at least the Audi VW I had.
No, they were just clipped in (inside with such a kind of plastic spring dowel) . I bought equal rubber buffers that were actually sold for toilet seat. And this is then attached to the body panel with a through screw. The mother inside was difficult to screw up (some mothers have fallen into body cavities) until I have threaded the mother on a ring of very thin sewing thread.
Are probably screwed from the inside – easy to pull in.
