How do you get a blood stain out of a bath towel that has been washed with boil water?

So… I know, of course, that blood stains should be washed out immediately with cold water, and I know some tricks. But: Unfortunately, I washed the bath towel at 95 degrees Celsius before I noticed the blood stain. Has anyone managed to get such stains out themselves (without scissors…)? And, above all, HOW? Any tips would be gratefully received.

Thus, a dried blood spot made of robust fibers with various water-based solutions can be removed. For this purpose, water is

  • Salmiak spirit (mixing ratio Salmiak spirit:water = 1:10)
  • Washing powder (one tablespoon per liter of water)
  • Salt
  • or aspirin (a tablet on a glass of water)

and the garment then softened in the mixture. After a working time of about thirty minutes, the fixed blood has dissolved and the garment can be placed into the washing machine as usual at a maximum of forty degrees. Also pure lemon juice and Gall soap are considered effective. They are applied to the spot about thirty minutes before the washing.
