I have some light-colored clothes with oil stains, coffee stains, and other stains that didn't come off in the wash. Do you have any tips on how to get them off or what detergent I should use?

I heard it was supposed to be fine with hairspray:
spray on it,
for 10 minutes,
Scrubbing with rags.
It worked well with my ketchup piece.
