First of all, you should be exposed to the headlights. That’s what you do on your phone by pressing on the spot.

And then you get so close that you don’t stand directly in the cone of light and keep the camera even slightly higher. It can help in general if the light is set at a lower level so not the normal street light but the parking light. And don’t use flashers either.

If there’s a lot to do with a cell phone, I can’t say no phone.

But at least you can try to change the perspective so that the lens looks less directly into the headlights. As you can see in comparison of the images, the less dazzling image is taken from a somewhat higher position.

In the case of a correct camera, you could also use an ND filter or a polarization filter.

Put down brightness. How much you will see from the car is the next question

The camera has to get out of the light cone, turn off Abblendl7czt and turn off flasher also helps.

From https://www.samsung.com/de/support/mobile-devices/tipps-und-tricks-fuer-optimal-fotos/

Five. Photographer unique color moods with the HDR function

The HDR function (High Dynamic Range) allows you to record photos with a larger contrast range. It is ideal for scenes with strong light and shadow elements. Let your recordings shine in a special shine. In this mode, details are captured even in very bright or very dark image areas.

Perhaps this is enough, taking the tips of into account, of course.

camera on the tripod, automatic illumination switch off or set to AV (blind selection), possibly also the autofocus. trigger with self-releaser to avoid delusions.

manually focus and make 3 images with over-, normal- and under-exposure, either with 1 or 2 exposure values; that is then a basis for a so-called. “HDR” photo (high dynamic range), where extreme contrast (as with your headlight) can be weakened.

there are also cameras that make this by themselves and calculate a finished image. or you need to look for a freeware that HDR can, e.g. DPP from canon.

The Samsung S20fe should be able to HDR if I did not misunderstand this when searching.

First of all, turn off the blinker and also turn off the low beam so that it does not radiate to the image. Then put the exposure darker… Ggf a multiple exposure and calculate to the HDR or activate HDR mode…

You need to manually change settings
