Wi-Fi sockets for larger devices?
Hello community. I've been using HomeAssistant with Refoss Tasmota sockets for two months. These advertise 16A and 3840W.
A year and a half ago, I ordered some cheap plugs from Amazon, which I later discovered were notorious for being cheap, despite the excellent reviews. I plugged them into my dishwasher. The result was that it caught fire without blowing the fuse (even though it's supposedly capable of handling over 3500W). Luckily, I was at home and was able to turn off the fuse myself when they got too hot.
Now I've dared to try again and got some with temperature measurement that switch off automatically.
ESP8266
Afterwards, I read through the worst reviews again and saw burnt-out devices there too.
The dealer explicitly advertises that these can be connected to washing machines, etc.
My question is, are such cases so rare that this concern is irrelevant for you? Do you use similar outlets on your washing machine, dishwasher, etc.?
Would you advise against it completely?
What does your setup look like?
And you still wonder?
You’re not serious.
And why should trigger the backup
As long as there is no short circuit or overload (too much power) the fuse does not trigger
An electrician who knows what he’s doing and knows how to do it right.
Of course, you can’t clip on the power grid
I forgot to mention that I also ordered the outlets on Amazon. Later, I read those who are called Chinabomber, despite the very good reviews.
When the thing melts in front of itself, the contacts connect, etc., I thought it was something that happened in terms of security.
If the contacts are connected, of course, this would be a short circuit
Then also would trigger the fuse
But this is obviously too late
So I use Shelly Plugs to Home Assistant…
I’ve probably installed 20 pieces, even on washing machine and dishwasher…
They stop 2500 W and switch off at overload..
This is enough in the normal case, because no device pulls over 2 kW…
And from China everything comes now…
The ESP8266 is the microcontroller that controls the socket… there’s also one thing for self-assembly…
I trade fair with temperatures and tax lamps…
And an ESP 32 controls a toughscreen that displays the temps…
Everything with Homeassistant
I had some washing machine, refrigerator and freeze. ran easily several years without getting hot. had which teckin – are also chinaware. However, most smarthome parts are chinaware. that alone doesn’t mean they’re cheap.
Did you? Smarthome given?
No. I moved last week and am still busy here before I put my smarthome back on. but I don’t need the freezer and the refrigerator is already smart. the washing machine is connected again.
I’m using unraid, and then as VM homeassistant hehe. Well, since it’s still a few so I’m more calm. Of course, most of them come from China but some products are just worse processed than others. Then I’ll just keep an eye on the temps.
You don’t understand what it’s about.
It’s about SMART control
For example, to get a message when the laundry is ready.
To SMART Home Control and Display
With Standyby, this has nothing to do with
If I want to get a message that my Wama is done, I’ll buy a Wama that can do that and no semi-seiden imported ChinabΓΆller for 2.50 who burns my bud. If I want to know the power consumption of my Wama, I’m temporarily jamming a neat meter. And Wamas programming goes without Wi-Fi.
Exactly, and to determine the power consumption of the apartment. You can then also automatically count against how much you save through solar and and and.

He doesn’t understand, leave him alone. Wouldn’t have thought that the tone and the niceness here on the side have taken so hard. But I’m already cured when it comes to idiotic stupidity on the Internet, so let him swell ππ
Yes
obviously not. Should we prove the opposite???
