Why should you be at the airport 2 hours in advance?

Hello,

Why should you be at the airport 2 hours in advance?

Is this really necessary if you have already checked in online?

Greetings

It all depends. As long as you manage to get there in time for boarding, you can be as close as you want.
But it's always difficult to predict exactly how busy security checks will be. Depending on the airport, time of day, and season, it can be anywhere from ten minutes to an hour or more.
If you are flying with checked baggage, you will of course have to drop off your suitcase in time so that you can still make it onto the plane.
Personally, I usually plan to arrive one and a half hours before departure for short-haul flights with hand luggage and online check-in.
For long-haul flights with checked baggage, three hours is better.
This way, you'll definitely have enough time to get to the gate without stress. If everything goes well, there'll be time for a coffee. If there are any delays, then you can go straight to the gate.
I have never missed a single flight in hundreds of flights

It's really not necessary, one hour is enough. But if it goes wrong, because it's "busy" or something, you're out of luck.

The plane will take off with or without you.

They don't care whether you've finished everything by then.

You must have completed the check by then and will be examined.

If any problems arise, it may take time and you may miss your flight even though you can already see the plane.
