Why isn't my wireless controller connecting?
I have an Easy SMX ESM 9013 (Xbox controller) and Windows 10. The USB port works, but when I connect the controller via USB, my computer doesn't respond (not even the normal sound it makes when a USB is plugged in). However, the LED on the USB stick turns red and connects to the controller, even though it's not connected to the computer itself. I've already reinstalled the USB mass storage device in Device Manager, and there's still no connection.
Try a different cable. Not all cables transmit data; they only charge via the 5V.

How should I use a different cable with my wireless controller? My controller doesn't have charging ports and uses regular batteries. The connection is between the controller and a USB stick, which turns on and connects to the controller, but the computer itself doesn't even recognize the plug-in in Device Manager.
Ah ok, I read that wrong, sorry.
Try a different USB port for the stick.
Viele verwechseln Ladekabel mit USB Datenkabel 🙂
Geht um einen kabellosen Controller. Bin auch drauf rein gefallen
Yes, I think that is the best method.

I did that. The USB ports work and recognize other devices when I plug them in. I'll try the controller at a friend's house tomorrow to see if it's my computer or if the USB itself is simply defective.
Thanks for the help so far ^^
Hey, it worked again for me after I closed the game and first connected the controller to the PC and then started the game.
Maybe the controller has problems connecting when applications are running?!?
(It wouldn't connect in the Crew2, the BT dongle was connected and only a light from the controller was lit [PS3 mode])
Windows doesn't like exotic hardware. And the fact that the LED glows red only indicates that 5 volts are present on the USB port, nothing more.
