Why is the function axisymmetric?

Hi everyone, I've attached problem and with the solution. Could someone tell me what's happening with the minus sign in the solution (it's underlined in red)? I would be very grateful for your help. Thanks😊

Because it's like -y=y. Thus, everything left of the y-axis is equal to the right of the y-axis.

g(x) is axially symmetrical to the y-axis according to the task. This means that the minus is “squared”.
