Why is rail transport in Germany so miserable?

Trains are constantly being cancelled, commuter trains aren't running as they should… Rail replacement services are often cancelled even more… Almost every time I take them, there's some kind of problem… I don't understand it… The prices are usually anything but cheap and are constantly rising, yet it seems to me that they're getting worse and worse… As a customer, you really feel like you're being ripped off…

The Munich S-Bahn or the S-Bahn system in Munich is extremely susceptible to interference, and I can confirm this… in Munich there are also some S-Bahn drivers missing. In a winter the delays or Incidents of the Münchner S-Bahn so oag that even the Bavarian government switched on 🙂

We love driving train. I’ve traveled for a period of time every day 150 km to cross-release training. That really didn’t work…

I was on my way to REHA with two suitcases alone. The IC should go through to Dresden shortly before Leipzig arrived a passage train sets in Leipzig from Am Bahnsteig opposite awaits the ICE.

That was the absolute chaos. More than three quarters the headphones stared on and on the phone, so don’t get anything. Since the railway knows that, a chain of co-worked with warning vests stood ready to prevent this running away. I’ve long since sat two blood boys half teenies, had carried the suitcases up on the shelf. when we finally after 30! I had long since discovered what the two were Super Nette train apprentices. It’s time to fly. Even though the ICE stopped where he was going.

I would have missed the costs for all those who waited between the idiots who renamed the chain.

So whoever says the train often comes too late, should consider whether he hasn’t even contributed anything to it.

I, as someone in the middle, cannot support such statements at all. Of course, there are some “problem regions” and also EVUs, which have no good reputation. But in general, most trains are really on time.

Of course, there are days where nothing just works and everything dances out of the row, with disturbances, train failures etc., but this is fortunately the exception

an EVU is a Ea.Vhe is comingUtake. So a company that lets trains drive, such as Abellio, GoAhead, Metronom, Alex, etc.

Where do you live?

I understand you very well and would bother me about it…

As mentioned in my question, I am lucky to have better rail connections in my area and there are no very long delays (for me, if at all, 5 to 10 minutes) or otherwise train failures.

But if you don’t have a ticket, the tickets are still very expensive…

If you were born in 1998, you could have made your driving licence a few years ago;-D

I can almost not confirm any of your described situations, and that, although I drive about 3 hours every working day. Only with the SEV I had a problem at times, but not because of the train, but because of the driver.

lack of personnel, is saved at every corner, disruption in trains (always more often in the newer ones), prices climb up, quality remains the same (the whole high levels put the stuff themselves in the pocket) and especially miserable infrastructure

Understand what you mean… with me exactly so.. proud 7 years in a row travelled by bus and train every day or almost every day the same red… either it falls out, has 5 to 25 minutes late (mostly 25) or is too crowded because the previous one has failed… and the price is undamaged… could drive 2x back and forth with the car and would be cheaper.

All red…

Could be on you, most passengers arrive on time. Me too.

I find the delays worse so that you can’t get your connections anymore
