Why is my internet connection not slow but causes problems with package loss?

Hey, we have a Vodafone cable connection with 1000mb download and 50mb upload speeds. Almost every broadband test shows acceptable speeds. However, when I play an online game, for example, I experience extreme lag (despite an acceptable ping), causing my character to bug through the world.

The following were checked: LAN cable connection, switch, three Vodafone technicians checked the connection in the house. Changing the PC didn't solve the problem, and it wasn't the individual game's fault either…

I'm really stuck, I hope someone can think of something that could be wrong.

Thanks!

First of all, what protocol do you have package losses?

Games usually work with the UDP protocol because defective packages are simply discarded.

Defect packages are sent again under TCP.

However, this can generate unfavorable time delays in games, which are then noticeable as Lags.

If a UDP package is discarded, it can come to a small backpacker, but the game still runs more liquid.

Package losses can have different causes. If, for example, the server is unfavourable, so the data can be routed over zig countries, this may happen. Even then, packages are discarded.

Lags in games does not automatically mean package losses. It can also be a delayed response of the server.

How did you measure the package losses?

In fact, providers vary package losses. At Deutsche Telekom, for example, the line is measured and the bandwidth permitted is possible without errors. Other providers don’t care, and they’re blazing everything through what’s going on. But there are no noticeable problems under TCP in a 1000 line.

Well, it would be important first to know if it was on the Internet. What you’d explain is most likely to be a package loss. If that were the case, you would not only have to play with, but also with, e.g., streaming applications such as radio/twitch or comparable also severe problems.

Is that what happens with ALL devices? So with a phone? Not that by chance the one best computer has the same problem.

If everything runs perfectly on other devices, then your computer is the problem(or the connection type)

Edit: by the way, there is also an extra test for package loss, you can simply throw between them. Doesn’t last long, probably saves a lot of debugging.

What does the router’s cable-infirmation display say?

look here, above all, a focus on the channels and their imcorrect errors, DAS is relevant and should you have a clear position on channel-id 2 or 4, then is with you (in the house) or even with another user hanging over the same box and radiates disturbances from
