This is common practice in Germany – whether you like it or not.

Of course, your "activity" doesn't require anything like that; your success will be judged in 20 years, when you're no longer living off your dad's back.

Because in Germany it is often very difficult to fire someone who is no good, and many people still manage to not give any reason to fire them during the maximum probationary period of 6 months.

Furthermore, especially these days, thanks to the internet, you can learn a lot of things autodidactically. There are entire YouTube channels dedicated to topics related to electricians, for example, and even explaining the basics. For example, because of that, and because I helped my father, who is an electrician, and I helped him a lot here at home, I could probably do a lot of electrical work for over six months without it being immediately obvious that I'm not an electrician. I might even be able to pass the theory test fairly well if I looked at old exams to see what topics I'm still missing and did a bit of prep.

But especially in the practical part, I'm definitely missing at least the last 10% of the knowledge that one should have with a completed apprenticeship, or knowledge that one should be able to recall after a few minutes of reading. For those specific cases, which you learn during the apprenticeship, but which you're paid with the normal electrician's salary, I would be lacking…

I guess it's because it guarantees employers that you can actually provide specialist knowledge when problems arise. Taking a risk and hiring someone who "appears" to be well-versed in a particular field because they've shown off their own work that they were able to do without a degree or training, but then when you hire them and let them work professionally, they completely screw up and constantly don't know what to do, can't keep up with the time pressure, etc., is simply not something the average employer wants to do. As I said, these are just my opinions on the subject, but I have to say that I don't really know exactly why.

Who's talking about me? I'm not a human resources person. That's what THEY think. And that's what you wanted to know.

I know that you can do things without papers.

You answer the question deliberately neutrally, and you immediately go against it….

Weil die Papiere die erworbenen Fähigkeiten und die Erfahrung klar belegen.

Why is more value placed on papers than on real skills and experience in the world of work?

because otherwise everyone could come and say that he was, for example,

a qualified electrician or a qualified doctor without even having “basic knowledge”.

And it would be particularly critical if you pretend to be something important like a doctor without being able to provide any references – because people's lives depend on it.

Imagine you go to your family doctor and it turns out that he only gave you the right medication based on his gut feeling, because he had fraudulently obtained his position and credentials…

Would you continue to go to this doctor who has no references and has been very lucky so far that nothing worse has happened…

Again you're claiming something that's not true. I was never in special needs school😜, but you were in secondary school because you didn't achieve anything more! Why do you think only high school graduates are given preference for many apprenticeships? It's probably because people don't think students with lower levels of education are capable of it, precisely because the apprenticeship is so difficult. But you can't understand that because you never achieved anything more than secondary school and didn't even manage to complete an apprenticeship. You tend to overestimate yourself and have no idea that you're smarter than a secondary school student.

Ja . Ja du würdest Abi schaffen? Wenn du nicht Mal fähig bist eine einfache Ausbildung zu schaffen?

That can only come from a failed high school student. Because that's all you can do in front of white people! You haven't even completed a higher education and you want to keep up with university graduates. How naive and uneducated are you?

It's finally time for you to admit that you can't keep up with the smart college graduates.
