Why has inflation hardly affected Berliners?

In 2014, a Berliner cost 50 cents.

Today, a Berliner costs 65 cents. Why has it barely increased in price? Other food items have become twice or even three times more expensive since 2014.

The “inflation” was partly brought about by money-consuming corporations and merchants, who simply wanted to make more money with hypocritical pseudo arguments such as “Ukraine crisis” and “Corona pandemic” – and this essentially affects products that are really “popular” or where it is worth it.

A rarely demanded or generally economically produced industrially, possibly even computer-baked or handcrafted routined and quickly prepared pastries like a Berliner/Krapfen just don’t fall under it – on the other hand, I have professional contacts to many bakers, whom I serve as a customer and listen here again and again: you have to be extremely careful and cannot increase the prices arbitrarily, because then nobody is more to the crafts. Many craftsmen (not the big chains) I have experienced as very honest craftsmen and there counts not only the profit, but also the customer.

The main cause is the increase in energy from OPEC. An inflation cannot be fixed to rolls, it will meet Querbeet and will cover costs paid before. So you have the difference.

With 6.1 percent compared to the previous year, the inflation rate fell significantly in May. In April, it was 7.2 percent, 7.4 percent in March, 8.7 percent in February. The highest inflation rate reached 10.4 percent in October 2022.

The DE in a recession must also be mentioned.

In 1989, I paid 5 Pfennig for a simple bun, that is 2.5 cents. Today it costs at least 50 cents, although production has been further streamlined and maschinized, i.e. cheaper. Who now earns at least 47.5 cents on a single bun?

The flat things are eggcakes, the parts are hot pancakes.
