Why don't Ukrainians simply write the word люди as лйуди?
I know the question doesn't make sense, but I'll ask it anyway.

in the Cyrillic Scripture you can represent “yes” and “ju” by the simple letters я and ю. So you make it a little easier (instead of using 2 letters).
Why would you write it like that? Wouldn’t be funny.
If you were trying to say that, it would sound like a German who tried to speak люди and does not manage.

You use it and that very often and to be honest, the ю is the most absorbent ligature throughout the Cyrillic alphabet
