Why does Turkish Airlines cancel my return flight if I missed my outbound flight?
Hello, I missed a flight and booked another ticket for the next day. Now Turkish Airlines is telling me that if I miss the outbound flight, the return flight will be automatically canceled because they assume I'll be able to take the return flight. Is that legal? Can I get my money back from a lawyer? I'm only referring to the return flight. It can't be that they just cancel the return flight too.
Yes. If you do not perceive a flight segment, all other flight segments fall automatically. And that’s the return flight.
Yeah, that’s right. You made a booking and didn’t perceive a flight from it. If you had booked single flights, it would be different.
Makes every airline so if a flight does not arrive without prior cancellation or rebooking.
It’s also a security rule.
There is no money in this case for self-indebtedness, extra taxes and fees.
This is normal practice at all airlines .. no show also triggers cancellation of the other flights of the ticket. You should always cancel or rebook in time.
Yes, it is.
If you do not appear, the complete flight will be compensated for without compensation. And whoever doesn’t fly can’t fly back. It’s called no-show.
It’s criminal. I’m upset about a branch, but I can’t. 0 cunning from Turkish Airlines.
Of course, if you hadn’t reached the flight, you could have called and rebooked before departure… for that you would have paid a rebooking fee (depending on the originally booked fare differently high) and that would have been all good.
Background is that return flights are often offered cheaper than Oneway. Therefore, some people book the return flight although they only want to use one segment…
Again: it is not criminal, but legally covered! Point.
You blew it, not the airline.
Maybe no return flight was planned for you anyway.
