Component (red – blue – green) are 3 separate color signals in which the TV receives all three basic colors via a separate cable. This was state of the art at an analogous time and promised best image quality.
Composite (yellowhe plug) is a sum signal of all three colors. Only the video signal is transmitted here, but without sound.
Audio (2 plugs red-black or red and white) Here only the sound is transmitted, Red the right sound signal and the zweite colour transmits the left sound signal.
Analog TVs therefore always had up to 6 connectors (Cinch sockets) for analogue devices (DVD player, game console, sat receiver)
