Why does Steam download always crash?

Hi,

I feel like I've tried everything. A few weeks ago I downloaded ARK and I had the same problem and then it worked again, just like with new games, like PixArk or World of Tanks. Now GTA is downloading and it's starting to cause problems again. I've also cleared the download cache twice already. Is it because of Steam, because the games are old, so I've had them for a while? In any case, it's really annoying me. I don't have the best internet anyway and I don't want to have to download everything again for half a year. And my external hard drive is making noises all the time, even though Steam has crashed so often when I have this download problem and can no longer be opened, and the hard drive is usually quiet too.

I could ask my grandmother's IT specialist again if he can take a look at my PC or something else that is broken or if any files are damaged for whatever reason. I don't do anything on the internet apart from watching YouTube and GUTEFRAGE but on my mobile, as I said, the IT specialist then gets into my PC via Team Wiever and takes a look at it, but until he has time for a little idiot like me who has a problem with a gaming platform, I hope that this detailed description was enough and that someone of you can help me. That would be very nice.
