Well, in times of the Internet, it’s super easy anyway to get some confiscated titles.

So don’t make any difference whether Steam checks “right” or not.

You have to ask. They also know that it is easy to specify the wrong date of birth, but they do not take care of it.

Due to the extra-step to have to enter the birth date, it can be that inmerhin a few (less) still cancel the process. It may be because they do not want to lie or fear consequences.

That’s better than nix.

In such a case, parents can also switch on the “adult” filter. I think it’s as a warning to understand and as a security for Steam, nobody can complain afterwards.

Because there must clearly be a failure of the child so that it gets access to this account.

Like another one already said, the internet is just global and not local. It makes no sense to screw the hurdles for Germany extremely high when the “gang” is so easy on the Internet.
