Why does my male dog mate in the morning?

Hello, my 1.5-year-old male dog has never mated me before, but when I wake up in the morning, he lies next to me and stretches, and then the mating begins. Sometimes when he's lying on his side, he also mats the air sideways, haha. This only happens in the morning when I wake up, otherwise he really doesn't mate with anyone, not even a bitch in heat. Is this just “joy”? The first time I noticed it, I thought he was having a seizure because it looked so unnatural, haha.

This is a displacement activity resulting from stress. Find the cause of the stress and eliminate it, and the humping will stop.

Castration, as some users here would suggest, would not change anything and would be a violation of the Animal Welfare Act. This is not sexual behavior.

Possibly. Excitement could be a cause. Perhaps it's too exciting to sleep in bed. Try letting him sleep in his basket.

In fact, dogs can simply start humping when emotions overwhelm them. This can be managed by disciplining and calming the dog.

Your dog is probably excited because he knows something will happen when you wake up, like a walk, food, or attention. Some dogs bark or run around when they're excited, and yours is humping. If the humping only lasts a short time, I would wait to see if it improves once your dog is past puberty.

And see if you can make the activity a little quieter after you get up.

In any case, the humping has no sexual reasons and castration does not change anything.

If your dog is just 1.5 years old, he's not quite out of adolescence yet. As the body develops, hormonal imbalances often occur, which manifest themselves, among other things, in these mating outbursts. Stress can contribute to this, but that doesn't mean your dog is unwell. This is completely normal behavior.

High testosterone production.

Have him neutered.

As already mentioned…increased testosterone production.
It's the same with us men (humans).

This has nothing to do with testosterone and castration will not change anything, apart from the fact that it would be a violation of animal protection laws.

Then you can certainly explain to us professionally what the reason is

No, it has nothing to do with testosterone, nor with any sexual behavior. Castration doesn't help with mating. Quite the opposite: it often makes the behavior worse. Castration without medical indication is also illegal in Germany!

I'm not aggressive by any means, and I don't suffer from PMS. I just asked you a question—you're the one who seems to be offended here (for whatever reason).

Do you have PMS, or why so aggressive?

Is my answer so incomprehensible?

Because of stress?

Yes, if I feel like it, I'll do it.

Incorrect. Mating in dogs (except with a bitch in heat) has no sexual connotation.

You are a human being, not a dog.
