Why does my car stall when idling?

Hello, my problem is, I have a Ford Mondeo 2.2 TDCI. Yesterday I drove about 10 km and gave it some gas and suddenly the car switched off. I tried to start it again and it only started when I gave it half the gas. Smoke came out of the engine but the smoke disappeared shortly afterwards. It starts but then immediately switches off again. It drives well but as soon as it gets to idle it switches off. I hope you can help me. I need the car for work. Thanks to everyone who can help me.

Decades ago, my father had this with his Mercedes and I with my golf. Cause in both cases was a broken horn (I know, sounds stupid, but so). The broken horn burned the fuse and the so-called. “Leerlauf shut-off valve”the so-called “Add to cart” should prevent the engine from being shut off by interrupting the fuel supply. As a result of the burnt-out fuse, the valve no longer has passed through fuel during idling and the engine died during each uncoupling, e.g. at the traffic light, but then immediately jumped and ran, as long as there was a little gas. Apparently, the manufacturers agreed that they both placed the horn on the same circuit as this valve.

I don’t know what’s wrong. But a cutting-edge engine is certainly something you should get into the workshop quickly.

Engines always qualify. If they get warmer, that will change. You could keep a paper towel in front of the exhaust and see if it’s water.

Many drive diesel and save too extra. But that makes the engine tight because a lot of deposits inside.

Every car is different. Some have a lot more technology. You could do something earlier, less today.

You have to tell people a lot more.

I had a Mercedes without the latest technology. Without injection nozzles etc.

The simplest one would be to pull cables. But if you don’t know, you don’t pull anything, but look if something’s loose.

There are mediums that clean the engine from inside. But you shouldn’t do that if you don’t know what to do.

You have to find out what happens when you drove the highway. What happens when you get out of the gear when you turn a little later like the acceleration strip.

In my car there was a motor in there that ran strangely at some, sometimes in the cold state bad, sometimes in the warm.

When was the last inspection? Are you doing something yourself in the car? You’re not telling much? Did you change the gas station? Although almost all are the same, it could be a difference.

If what comes out of the exhaust, the smoke is gray, blue or white?

You have to write a lot more.

I think you’re still very young. Is it your first car? ,

So he doesn’t qualify anymore

Unfortunately, you cannot describe observation as a mistake at all. Is it no longer torment when the engine is warm after about ten minutes?

If he no longer qualts, the torment has neither a bluish color nor a bright white. And if it stops to qualify it is /no/water from cooling (cylinder head seal broken).

the gas station is always the same

Well, it can be bad fuel. Many brands have the same refinery. Switching the gas station is almost pointless.

A motor needs good conditions to burn the fuel well. The spark plugs need a good spark. The sprite must run evenly and the mixture or metering of the sprite quantity must not be too much and not too little.

Some engines have injection nozzles, they are called injectors. You can clog. They then supply too little or sometimes too much fuel. One would have to screw the spark plugs out individually at your car – never all at once.

So and if you had a diesel, you would have /no/ spark plugs. You haven’t written that yet.

Unfortunately, you are a completely zero 🙂 from the error description that you deliver, that is, “Six Set”! (without Smilie) .

You have to tell people more. And look at the page motor talk . de This is a forum for people who want to ask others.

There is the page spritmonitor . de there you can see what others consume. If you consume too little, your car will drive too sparingly and clogs. If you consume too much your engine could get too much diesel and that doesn’t work well.

You have to find out if your car works normally, just not now. And only if you have ideas you can tell exactly what the car is doing. If you don’t know, it’s the workshop and it’s gonna be more expensive.
