Why does everyone think color is ugly?

I recently asked here how you guys like this backpack:

I personally think it's beautiful, but as it turns out, most people thought it was hideous. Unfortunately, no one could say what bothered them about it, and that interests me. Especially because my perception is so COMPLETELY different. Does it bother you that it's colorful? And if so, do you really ALWAYS think colorful is hideous, or just on backpacks?

Personally, I don't need colorful, crazy clothes, but my backpack should be brightly colored; otherwise, I find it totally boring. And it needs pictures. I'd like to understand why so many people find the very thing I find so beautiful so hideous.

Generally, people prefer color and images to black and white and monotony. Hardly anyone likes hanging a pure black picture on their wall.

Very often, if not most of the time, when you buy something, you want it to be unusual, not lame and unimaginative. So what's the problem with backpacks? Why do they always have to be black, even if you can't stand the color? Is it some kind of "I want to be cool" thing? 😅

If not, can you narrow down a little bit what's bothering you about the backpack's design? Or is there even someone here who finds it at least bearable?

I'd just really like to understand.
