Why do potatoes suddenly cost almost double at Netto?
I was just shopping and wanted to buy potatoes, just a normal 2 or 2.5kg bag…but they want €4.99 for them.
Is this also the case with your Netto?
What surprises me is that all other stores still charge the normal price (2.99-3.50€)
What could be the reason for this?
The early potato harvest was not particularly good weather condition and then attract prices.
The price mentioned is sometimes even below average.
Potatoes are too expensive. Wait for my own harvest (does not have early potatoes, but I will soon harvest the first – some have already taken the leaves – but still have no idea how the harvest will be this year, the snails have destroyed a lot.
This season only bought potatoes for grilling, because: Barbecue without potatoes is not possible. The first barbeque we got on the market for last year’s Laura ( others can probably store better than me), the next time unfortunately only early potatoes, with the above modest quality
Often it is because there are new potatoes (new harvest), which are more and more expensive than the storage potatoes.
That could be bio-potatoes or the first late.
No, these were the normal ones that now cost in net again 3.79€.I can distinguish potatoes.
With us they cost so much everywhere. Could be the reason that the pesticide scandal was recently? The many recalls reduce the available potatoes. This also increases the price. That’s my guess.
Okay, I was just at the Turks, so they cost the normal 3€, so that’s why I was surprised. The next time I was testing the prices in other supermarkets. The scandal somehow went past me, but I was also on vacation for a few weeks.
I just gogled, but don’t find any of this scandal you mention.

Thank you very much
The price of nets has grown worldwide
But not so extreme.
Sure. Were you on vacation?
Definitely loose
I was then at the Turks, then they had a halfway normal price with (a little over 3€)
Hmmm. I thought.
Yes, see upper comment 😂😂
Wrong programming.
