Why do I have to enter strange billing addresses and residence details on Steam?

Hello.

So, I bought a €20 Steam card today, successfully redeemed it on Steam, and have €20 credit. Now, when I wanted to buy a game and went to the shopping cart, I had to enter this weird billing address and city. And I don't even know which billing address I should enter. Could I be entering a fake billing address here, or does anyone have a billing address?

You don’t get steam mail. They only need the address if you commit fraud.

The billing address is the address to which the invoice goes – i.e. the one from the contract partner – also known as “DU”!

Why do you have to do that? You were allowed to thank the EU and all the citizens who have miscised it in the past.

What now? Buy your address or buy nix – you can choose.

Let the nonsense with the fake information. If you have problems with your account at some point, you have no proof that it is yours.

The information needs Valve to pay their taxes. You won’t get a post and your details will not be sold.

Because this is normal that you need to specify a address when buying?

You must know who they’re selling.

I’m sure if you click on the question mark.

You don’t get a post in the normal case either. I’ve never been briefed by steam.
