Why choose the Sony Alpha 7C II instead of the Sony A7C?
I read the comparison of both cameras, and of course the 7CII is slightly better. The question is, do you even need that slightly better? I think you could save the €500 and invest in a fast lens with an aperture of f/2.8, right?
Depending on your requirements, the A7C 2 has for example 32MP and 4k 60FPS while the A7C has “only” 24MP and 4k 30fps.
I decided at the time when I bought the A7R 2 (in December) because I wanted the 42MP and 4k, compared to the older A7R 1.
Personally, it would still be important for me to stabilize the image, I no longer want to measure it that is installed in the sensor, because then every lens can simply use Steadyshot, but with the A7C and A7C2 it seems to be the case with both.
And in general, I would also buy the camera used by a dealer selling this general overhauled and not buying it somewhere new.
If you also film “longer” with the Camear, you could see if there is still the Play Memorys/OpenMemorys Hack/Tweak for the A7C 1 so that mn can e.g. disable the limitation of the 29min during filming and film until the camera turns off due to overheating or low battery level, with my A6300 I was able to use it approx. 40-50min depending on the ambient temperature, with my A7R2 Ihc packed 75min, each in 4k with 30fps.
You should not choose a Sony camera at all because the operating concept is the sheer gray.
If I need the user manual to put the camera on manual exposure and sharpness, and it is reset by itself at the next turn-on, something is fundamentally wrong.
Just as if I’m expected to learn by heart what automatics are active in the exposure program chosen by the camera and not me instead of simply being able to set the three, four decisive parameters themselves. With a single handle to a discrete operating element that never changes its function.
“If I need the manual to get the camera on manual exposure …” Well, if you already need a user manual to turn the wheel to “M” it’s up to you? Or you just want to show it overshot;-)
Son Bullshit Mode on M and Done The camera has no servos to reset the rotating wheel
Now, ask where the AF is turned off.
Next, ask which mode the exposure measurement is selected to M and where you can now set it up again.
Point 1 and point 2 via Fn button and Quick Set menu…….point 1 partly also via objective switch….m
But I also wonder why you buy an expensive camera with good automatics if you don’t want to use it anyway
The A7 CII has the better menu, the new Auto Focus Ki motif recognition
And the same wheels as the big full-fornat cameras
And above all a much larger magnified viewfinder 0.59 as in the 7C, Arg is small
And it also has the same sensor as the A7 IV
o.k….but this is not worth €600 for me. I can live with it.
I’d buy A7C I if I wanted to.
